Barnard Castle RUFC hopes World Cup will spur new players to give rugby a go

COME AND JOIN US: Barnard Castle RUFC is looking for players - male and female - from five to seniors

BARNARD Castle RUFC officials are hoping that interest in the World Cup will propel the club to greater heights.

The club currently has two senior men’s teams, a ladies team – about to start their first ever league season – a junior academy for children aged five and older and three girls’ teams,

However, the club is always looking for new players of all ages and standards.

Girls’ coach Paul Davis said: “It’s a great way to make new friends, get fit and helps deal with all of today’s stress.”

The junior academy trains on Sundays 10.30am to noon for ages five and older. Some Sundays are game days so to get training info contact academy chairman Andy Howard on 07801 801280.

The senior squad trains on Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm to 8.30pm. For information, contact director of rugby David Bottoms 07952 402215.
