Awards celebrate cricket achievements

GOOD SEASON: The Middleton-in-Teesdale CC trophy winners at the end of season presentation

MIDDLETON-in-Teesdale CC celebrated success on the field at the club’s annual presentation evening.

Middleton enjoyed a decent season, with the club finishing fifth in the B division of the Darlington and District League.

The club also boasts a girls and ladies’ team.

The presentation evening was held at the Moorcock Inn and the following awards were made:

Ladies

Player of the year: Emily Lawson; Ladies double wicket competition: Marie Paling-McGough and Gillian Anderson; Ladies single wicket competition: Tied between Marie Paling-McGough and Emily Lawson.

Senior

Club person of the year: Anth Coatsworth; Batting award: Anth Coatsworth; Bowling award: Anth Coatsworth; Player of the year: John Lucas; Most catches: Anth Coatsworth and John Fletcher; Fielding award: John Lucas; Most improved player: Aaron Hutchinson; Best newcomer: Josh Andrews. Catch of the season: Olly Welsby.
