AN upper dale crafter is branching out into what she believes is a fundraising first for the area.
Jane Addison, who runs Goodyards Crafts interiors and collectibles behind the Crown, in Mickleton, is organising a wedding fair in early spring which will benefit two good causes.
It will be staged at the Utass (Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services), based in Middleton-in-Teesdale.
In addition to trade stands for those offering wedding services, Ms Addison is also hoping to stage a display of vintage wedding memorabilia with the help of the Fitzhugh Library.
“I would like to have an exhibition of weddings from the past and hopefully get hold of some vintage wedding dresses,” she said.
The event will be held on March 25 and 26 and money raised will be split between Utass and the Dusk Till Dawn nursery school, which is attached to the village primary.
“I have done crafters and collectors’ fairs in the past but this is something I don’t think has been done before and I fancied giving it a go,” added Ms Addison. “It’s something a bit different.
“So far, I have got a professional make-up artist and a jeweller coming and also a florist booked in for one of the days.
“I am still looking for a dress maker, wedding photographer and others who offer wedding services,” she said.
Anyone providing wedding services who would like to take part in the event can contact Ms Addison by email: jane-addison@live.co.uk.
