EVERYTHING anyone would want to know about community venues across Teesdale has been captured on a relaunched website.
Teesdale Village Halls Consortium’s revamped website went live at the end of February offering instant access to information about community hubs, ranging from facilities and contacts to hire rates, details of what’s on and images of the venues.
The website was redesigned by the consortium’s administration officer Sophie Stanwix with help from Joe Hutchinson and took several months to put together.
Member halls can also upload their events and activities to the website and when they do, an alert is sent to the Teesdale Mercury for inclusion in the newspaper What’s On guide.
Ms Stanwix said: “We wanted to create an information board for people who are using their community buildings.
“We have 28 members, pending 29 because we have got Middleton-in-Teesdale coming back on board as well.
“Basically, our membership is village halls, but also some refer to themselves as community centres.
“Startforth is a community centre and School Aycliffe which is a community centre.”
Consortium chairman David Hutchinson added that membership stretches across Teesdale and the surrounding area, including some venues from North Yorkshire and other parts of County Durham.
It was set up to help venues access funding.
Ms Stanwix said: “We also offer support and guidance. Members get quite a lot of support from the consortium.”
