Two dale venues have been listed as among the top four wedding venues in the North East.
Runa Farm, near Barnard Castle, and Lartington Hall have appeared in global tech platform Hitched’s annual Wedding Awards.
The awards are made based on user reviews and include everything bridal from venues and photographers to caterers and hair and make-up stylists.
The only other two North East venues to make the list were Beamish Hall Country House Hotel and The Croft.
Both Lartington Hall and Ruma Farm are owned by Newcastle-based Apartment Group.
Ruma Farm hosted 280 weddings last year. The venue’s head wedding manager Amy Widdowson was delighted with the listing.
She said: “It came as a complete surprise.”
Explaining why she thought the venue got such positive reviews, she said: “We have really good attention to detail. We go through all the fine details with the bride and groom.”
She added that the venue’s chapel, which appears both luxurious and rustic at the same time, is a major draw.
Casey Moujaes, vice-president of vendor marketing at Hitched said: “The 2026 Weddings Awards spotlight the very best in the global wedding industry – vendors who consistently earn the trust and praise of couples through exceptional service, creativity, and care.
“These winners exemplify the heart of what we stand for: helping every couple create a celebration that is uniquely their own.
At Hitched, we are proud to celebrate the incredible talent and dedication of the wedding professionals who make life’s most meaningful moments possible.”
