Tractors turn out in force in memory of Jane

OUT IN FORCE: Tractors head out of Barnard Castle on the rally

MORE than 50 tractors of all ages, shapes and sizes took part in a rally in memory of a long serving member of staff at Barnard Castle’s Carrs Billington branch who died of cancer aged 46.

Jane Hogarth was branch supervisor at the depot, on Montalbo Road, where she had worked for 24 years.

She lost her battle with cancer last August and colleagues organised the memorial tractor rally to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mrs Hogarth’s husband, Andrew, was among those who took part in the rally.

He said he was “overwhelmed” by the response to the event.

We’ll have a full report and more pictures in this week’s Mercury.
