A Dale swimming club is looking for financial help.
Teesdale Tiger Sharks are based at Teesdale Leisure Centre in Barnard Castle.
The Sharks are a small, fully inclusive swimming club with members aged between seven and 19. It provides integrated sessions for both mainstream and para swimmers with the aim of encouraging young swimmers into the sport.
Spokesman Natalie Smithwhite said: “Although we are small, our swimmers have achieved great things this year with multiple swimmers qualifying for county and regional championships. In addition, two classified para swimmers successfully qualified for National Championships.
“We are currently fundraising for new lane ropes and a specialist storage reel. To date we have managed to secure over £1,500 and the club’s swimmers are undertaking fundraising activities as well as applying for grants.
“Unfortunately, the training lane ropes we currently have are not suitable for swimmers to train effectively for competitions and are hindering their progress.
“The club requires three 25m ropes and they cost £26.35 per metre. We are reaching out to local businesses to see if there is any possibility that they may be able to sponsor a metre of lane rope.
“For this we would be able to display the business name and logo on our website and acknowledge the business on our social media pages and throughout our fundraising endeavours as well as in any press releases.”
