Take your partners… Bowes pupils dance away

TAKING PART: Pupils at Bowes Hutchinson's Primary School danced the afternoon away in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support

YOUNGSTERS in Bowes showed off their moves during a charity afternoon.

A dress up and dance event was held at Bowes Hutchinson’s Primary School in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The whole school took to the playground to perform a series of routines in front of parents who had turned out to watch. Teacher Jane MacInnes had been delivering dance lessons during PE time during the past term.

Headteacher Chris Matthewman said: “Dance is a brilliant activity for developing co-ordination and listening skills and following instructions. It is all good fun too.

“The children love raising money at different events. They come up with all their own ideas.”

The youngsters also organised a bring and buy sale to help boost their fundraising efforts.
