ONE month after launching a meals on wheels service for residents in Teesdale, owner of Barnard Castle-based The Butty Market, Nicola Stephenson, says she is delighted with the response.
She said: “We already have a lot of older customers who have signed up and the meals are ideal for them as they can just heat them up in the microwave. But it’s not just for older people. It’s for anyone who wants a good, home-cooked meal, delivered to their door.”
She added: “We do four different mains meals and four desserts.”
The freshly-prepared, home cooked meals come in two sizes, small and large, and cost £5 and £7 each.
A weekly menu plan, which includes four different main meals and four desserts, is released each Friday with orders taken up to and including Monday for deliveries no later than Wednesday.
Ms Stephenson said: “We have been doing it for four weeks and are really pleased with it. It’s ideal for people who are on their own, what with the rise in costs of food and electricity.”
The pre-cooked meals are delivered chilled and can be reheated in the microwave.
She said: “We’ve got lots of customers who ring up every week to reorder. We do deliveries to Middleton in Teesdale on a Tuesday and Jack deliveries everywhere in.
The Butty Market is open 7.30am until 2pm Monday to Saturday. For more details about their meals on wheels servicehttps://tinyurl.com/y529aknu or call 01833 316244
