Staindrop pupils cook up cash with some home-baked treats

TUCK IN: Members of Staindrop Primary School's student council with the packed table of home-baked cakes ready for their coffee morning

THERE was a mouthwatering array of cupcakes, scones and biscuits on offer at Staindrop Primary School when pupils held their annual fundraising coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support last month.

Children from the student council voted to put together the coffee morning and all pupils and staff were asked for a donation of cakes.

Lots of children with the help of their parents whipped up tasty treats which were sold during the afternoon.

Grandparents and friends also took part in activities for Macmillan’s campaign that aims to be the world’s biggest coffee morning.

The youngsters, who wore green clothing as nod to the charity’s official colours, raised £668.60 for the charity and were delighted with the amount.
