Spreading a little happiness at the Hub

JOIN US: Alice Redfearn and Rupert Philbrick

A WEEKLY lunch club is helping to bring some of the dale’s older folk – many who spent more than a year isolating – back together again.
The get-together takes place in the cafe at the TCR Hub, Barnard Castle, on Fridays, from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
Dubbed The Happiness Hub, organisers are hoping more people will take advantage of the free fare on offer.
Project co-ordinator Alice Redfearn said: “We offer a complimentary lunch, alongside the chance to socialise with other participants and our staff.
“It is a funded wellbeing project aimed at older people in Teesdale who are looking for a space to meet other individuals and enjoy a variety of food and drink together.
“We are dedicated to making use of our surplus food from the Fareshare deliveries, preventing food waste.”
Ms Redfearn said transport could be arranged if needed to bring people to the centre on a Friday lunchtime. For more information or to book a place contact Ms Redfearn or Rupert Philbrick on 01833 690150 or email alice.tcrhub @gmail.com.
