Sponsors sought to keep Barnard Castle’s hanging baskets in tip top condition

BARNEY IN BLOOM: Cllr Roger Peat

SPONSORS are being sought to help keep part of Barnard Castle blooming throughout the summer.

The town council, which organises many of the displays around Barney, has taken delivery of 12 hanging baskets for the frame outside the Post Office, at the bottom of Galgate.

The baskets were created for the council by Doug Wearmouth, of the Lowfield Gardens nursery, Barnard Castle.

The town council is now hoping supporters will come forward to sponsor a basket to help cover costs.

Last year, all 12 were sponsored and members are hoping for a full house again.

It costs £25 to sponsor a basket. Anyone interested should contact the town council office at Woodleigh, on Scar Top, or call 01833 690970.
