Social club does its bit to help The Clique

HAND SHAKE: Derek Harper and Phil Ryan from The Pinfold Club hand over a cheque for £550 to members of The Clique Stuart Patterson

A WEIGHT loss challenge, beer draws and a competition to guess the value of coins in a bottle were just some of the ideas used by a social club to raise cash for charity.

Members of the Pinfold Club at Boldron have been raising money for the charity fundraising group, The Clique. During an interval of live music event, Pinfold committee members Derek Harper and Phil Ryan handed over a cheque for £550 to representatives of The Clique on a recent Saturday night. Mr Harper said members had fun raising the money and hoped to be able to raise more. He added: “We’ve had a variety of competitions running at the club which members get involved with. What’s great about The Clique is all the money is given out to individuals, groups and organisations in Teesdale and you can see the difference it makes.”
