PUPILS from Forest of Teesdale Primary School enjoyed a day of activities with colleagues from across the
border in Weardale last week.
Not only do pupils share their headteacher Ian Carroll with the primary schools at Rookhope and St John’s Chapel but they also regularly meet each other.
Teacher Andrew Harrison said: “Every term we try to get together for an enrichment day.”
In the past they have united for a computer day but on Tuesday, June 19, they put on a day of activities, which included archery, taekwondo, dance, frisbee and healthy cooking.
Lynn Hawdon, of school catering company Taylor Shaw, helped the children make pizza, a pasta dish and crumble, while theatre group Experiential taught pupils dance routines from their production Trapped.
Trapped is inspired by the experiences of Chilean miners who became trapped during a collapse in 2010, and is funded by Northern Heartlands.
