GOOD DEED: Children with the clothes from Ravensworth

CHILDREN at Ravensworth Primary School have sent a large parcel of old school uniforms to a school in

India.

Rosie and Francis Muncaster, trustees of the charity Friends of Mettupalayam, visited Ravensworth School to collect summer dresses, polo shirts and PE T-shirts, as well as letters and photographs from pupils.

They have been gratefully received by Indian children at Crakehall School, in Mettupalayam, southern India.

Kirstie Petch, deputy headteacher at Ravensworth Primary School, said: “When Rosie and Francis went out with our parcel, the children of the Crakehall School were incredibly excited to receive the uniform and many rushed off to try on their new clothes.

“They have written letters back to our children and sent beautiful handmade necklaces as a thank you for every pupil.

“We are hopeful that this link will continue and the school is able to do some further work to support the Crakehall School.”
