Recruitment plea for Barney paper boys

FIRST CLASS DELIVERY: Aidan Marmont is part of the Galgate News delivery team

READ all about it… Galgate News is on the lookout for more youngsters to deliver the morning papers.
The newsagent, which is part of Teesdale Mercury Ltd, has a team of teenagers delivering papers on a number of routes across Barnard Castle and Startforth.
With a number due to move on later in the year, retail manager Debbie Welsh said she was keen to recruit more youngsters who would cover absences and holidays and be ready to step in permanently when required.
Anyone aged 13 and older can apply to be part of the team which delivers the papers Monday to Saturday, or on a Sunday.
Ms Welsh said: “We are looking for young people who are reliable and hard working.
“Delivering the papers is something of a rite of passage for many – and something their own parents may well have done in their younger days.
“Delivering the papers also instills a good work ethic and is an extremely valued service by our customers.”
