Pupils make friends with children in Hungary

EUROPEAN FRIENDS: Left

PUPILS from Bowes Hutchinson’s Primary School have strengthened international ties by sending Christmas cards to their peers at a school in Hungary.

In the past pupils have been in touch with other children from Vietnam, Russia and India.

In September each pupil was partnered up with one of the Hungarian children and has since been in communication with them.

They also made Christmas cards for their Hungarian counterparts and chatted to them over Skype.

Teacher Susan Scaife said: “Over Skype they could see who they are sending the Christmas cards to.”

As part of the internet call, children from Bowes sang English carols to their new friends, who reciprocated by singing Hungarian Christmas songs.
