Pupils celebrate harvest time around the world at village church

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Reilly Milner and Ava Hewitson help deliver some of the collected goods to the food bank in Bishop Auckland

THIS year, Staindrop Primary School celebrated Harvest Around the World in St Mary’s Church.

Each class found out about how harvest time was celebrated in a different country.

Their efforts were then presented to friends and family in the church on Monday, October 7.

America, India and Mexico were just a few of the countries that were researched.

Children created art work, wrote messages of thanks, sang songs and made olive wreaths to help bring their presentations alive. It was enjoyed by many.

A tin collection was organised and delivered to Bishop Auckland Food Bank later in the week.

This collection will help many people who are not as fortunate in our local area.

The delivery was made by our year six school councillors. A huge thank you to everyone who made a donation.
