HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Barnard Castle mayor John Blissett was among guests celebrating The Manor House's tenth birthday

Anchor’s The Manor House, in John Street, held a party for residents, staff and the local community on Sunday, December 1.

This included an invite to members of the emergency services and district nurses.

Drinks and canapes were served, followed by live classical entertainment and a buffet banquet.

The Manor House opened at the end of November 2009. Dr David Bellamy, along with the town’s mayor and mayoress were among the guests. Home manager Lynn Cuthbertson said: “We can’t believe it’s been ten years since we opened.

“We are really proud of the wonderful community we have here.

“The staff have worked hard to create a fun, enabling environment for our residents who benefit from top quality care, in beautiful surroundings.

“This would not have been possible without everyone at The Manor House pulling together, and for that, I am very grateful, and we look forward to many years to come.”
