New outdoor gym equipment helps Ingleton folk keep in shape

KEEPING FIT: Ingleton Parish Council chairman Cllr Steve Leech and daughter Jess have a go on the outdoor gym apparatus TM pic

RESIDENTS of a dale village now have no excuse for not keeping in shape after outdoor gym equipment was installed in the local sports field.

Three pieces of apparatus have been erected in Ingleton’s recreation area, which is also home to a cricket pitch and children’s play park.

It is the brainchild of Ingleton Parish Council members and was funded using part of a grant from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme.

Cllr Michelle Vickers explained: “We did a survey in the village about what people wanted to see here.

“Sport and outdoor fitness equipment was what people wanted and we have done our best to respond.”

She said the equipment had proved popular with villagers of all ages, with many having a go.
