More events planned by Evenwood Community Action

HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT: Looking forward to meeting the amazing animals presented by Crazy Creatures are Hugo Gallagher

YOUNG families in Evenwood were treated to a summer party of great food and entertainment, thanks to a new group.
Evenwood Community Action was started just ahead of the coronavirus pandemic and now aims to put on events for young and old in the village.
Their first event since the lifting of restrictions attracted a large crowd to Evenwood Workingman’s Club where people enjoyed packed lunches, hot beef roast and potatoes, and entertainment in the form of Crazy Creatures.
Organiser Nicola Porter said: “I am over the moon with the outcome – we have so many people here.”
She thanked workingman’s club stewardess Alison Stoker for her support in organising the party.
She added that more events are need in the village because there is so little for people to do.
The party was sponsored by North Star Housing Group and included games and raffles, as well as live entertainment from local musician Richard Ellis-Hawley and his husband Rowan.
Coral Smith, from North Star Housing Group, said: “It is absolutely fantastic. I am blown away by the amount of people who have come.”
