Lovebird takes up home in Startforth

ROOSTING: Residents in Startforth Park are looking for the owner of this lovebird

IS anyone missing their pet lovebird?
This is the question being asked by residents in Startforth Park who have noticed the colourful creature feeding with wild birds for the past week.
Jennie Selley and her neighbour first noticed the lovebird on Sunday, July 19, when it made a nearby hawthorn tree its home. She said: “I put food out for all the birds. It loves the sunflower seeds but finds the peanuts a bit more hard going.”
The residents have informed the vets as well as the RSPCA about the bird.
Anyone who thinks it may be their pet can contact Ms Selley on 01833 908089.
