Little Maisie joins the team at Beaconsfield

PROUD FAMILY: Little Maisie with mum Kayleigh and dad Miles

A CARE home has welcomed its newest “team member”  – one-month-old Maisie weighing just 7lb 5oz.

Maisie’s parents, kitchen assistant Kayleigh Howe and assistant cook Miles Purchese, met during their work at Beaconsfield Court, in Barnard Castle, where their relationship blossomed.

Kayleigh’s daughter, six-year-old Mia, adores her baby sister and was present at the birth to be a comforting support for her mum, Paula Sedgewick.

The birth itself was a little unconventional – Kayleigh delivered Maisie on her mum’s living room floor in Cockfield

Due to the haste of the birth, Miles missed the event but still made it in time to cut the baby’s cord.

Kayleigh’s mum is also a care assistant at Beaconsfield Court.

All of the residents were thrilled to meet the baby and congratulated the parents on their new arrival.

Laura Langridge, home manager at Beaconsfield Court, said: “Maisie is a beautiful little girl and has been completely welcomed into Beaconsfield Court’s family.”

The home is run by HC-One.
