Lessons in well being

Lochlan

Children at Gainford Primary School spent an afternoon working on their mental health through a series of activities.

Yoga, art and crafts took place across the school on Tuesday last week.

Headteacher Chris Riley said the children worked in their house teams of Oak, Willow and Sycamore so that the older children and younger pupils could mix and work together.

She added: “Mental health is just as important as physical health and can affect attainment and all aspects of children’s wellbeing.”

The headteacher said problems such as anxiety were particularly impacted by the covid pandemic.
