Kindness award for ‘inspirational’ carers

KINDNESS COSTS NOTHING: Linnie Kavanagh presents the Kindness in Caring award to staff at Beaconsfield Court care home

STAFF at Beaconsfield Court care home, in Barnard Castle, are celebrating after receiving a Kindness in Care award.

The Kindness in Care awards programme was launched by HC-One, the health and social care provider which operates the home, in October 2013.

It recognises the efforts of their kindest members of staff and the impact they have on the lives of residents and their loved ones.

Laura Langridge, home manger at Beaconsfield Court, nominated the entire team to recognise their efforts The hard work of staff at Beaconsfield Court was also acknowledged in a recent internal inspection where the home achieved a Blue 5 standard.

Linnie Kavanagh, a resident at the home, presented the team with their Kindness in Care certificate along with a special gift hamper filled with delicious sweet treats for the hard-working group.

Ms Langridge said: “I am proud to work with such an amazing group of people.

“Each and every person was deserving of the Kindness in Care award.”

HC-One area director Andrea Gibson added: “The Kindness in Care awards programme is about recognising and celebrating colleagues who demonstrate the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from.

“Each and every day, HC-One staff do incredible work, and make such a difference to the lives of residents living in our homes.

“It is great to work with such inspirational, caring and kind people.”

Located on Galgate, Beaconsfield Court offers short and long term support for older members of the community needing residential care.

The home is also celebrating a 9.7/10 average user rating on the sectors leading comparison website, carehome.co.uk.
