Kind-hearted Cockfield kids collect goods for food bank

CARING: Teacher Angela Hancock with class four pupils Nicole

KIND-HEARTED children and their parents in a dale village have donated enough goodies to fill 26 Christmas hampers for a local food bank.
Cockfield Primary School ran a month-long appeal asking for items to make up hampers and staff were overwhelmed with the generosity shown.
Teacher Angela Hancock said: “We wanted to make a difference and do something to help out as it’s been a very tough year for everyone, especially those who have lost their jobs.
“The appeal for goodies was run over a month and the children and parents of Cockfield have been so generous. We had all sorts of advent calendars, biscuits, selection boxes, sweets, stocking fillers and books given, enough to fill 26 hampers.”
The hampers have been dropped off at The Well, in West Auckland.
