Help needed to create community area

VOLUNTEER PLEA: Randolph Community Centre manager John Bogle wants people in Evenwood to help regenerate an outdoor space

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help regenerate an outdoor space at Evenwood’s Randolph Community Centre.
Centre manager John Bogle hopes to create a tranquil garden with new seating for the venue’s elderly visitors to enjoy this summer.
Also in the pipeline is the installation of an automatic door to allow people with mobility problems to access the space.
He said: “That will give access from the cafe to the garden. The garden is going to get a sprucing to make it a nice, friendly area for the community.”
When the garden has been rejuvenated, plans are to carry out work on a nearby play area for younger people in the village to enjoy. It is hoped that work will be completed before next summer.
Anyone who wants to help out by doing manual work can contact Mr Bogle on 07585 472009 or email [email protected].
