Hard work pays off for netball team

EXTRA coaching at lunch time helped Green Lane Primary School’s netball team lift the Standrop Circuit champion’s trophy.

Six primary schools took part in the tournament with Green Lane Primary School winning their first match before being held to a 1-1 draw withCockfield Primary School. After winning the successive matches, Green Lane beat Cockfield in the final.

Team member Joel Dowson said: “Cockfield scored in the first few minutes then I scored the last five.”

Green Lane won the match 5-2, securing the championship title. PE teacher Helen Court attributed the success to extra training.
