RESIDENTS of care homes in West Auckland are looking forward to enjoying extra treats this festive season thanks to the village’s parish council.
Parish councillors visited Devonshire House, which caters for elderly residents, and Rosslyn House, which looks after people with learning difficulties, to deliver Christmas hampers last
week.
They included Christmas crackers, biscuits, fruit, nuts and sweets, and were decorated with fairy lights.
Cllr Neil Simpson said: “We have been giving out hampers since the parish council was formed in 2003.”
