A HOUSEBUILDER hosted a Barnard Castle primary school for a festive storytelling session with Santa.

David Wilson Homes North East welcomed Green Lane Primary School at the Five Acres development. The event involved a reading of classic tale The Snowman and the Snow Dog, as well as interactive quizzes for the pupils.

The company is building 62 homes on land near the school.

Christie Edge, sales manager at Five Acres, said: “It was a really lovely event to host, and we were delighted to see the children’s faces when they arrived and saw that Santa had come all the way from the North Pole to tell them a story in our show home, which was all decorated for Christmas. We work really hard to build links in the communities in which we build, and so hope to do further activities with schools like this in the future.”

Anthea Enzor, school business manager at Green Lane Primary School, said: “We were delighted to accept the invitation to bring our year two pupils down to the development to meet Santa and listen to the classic story told in an exciting and interactive way. The children loved their morning trip and left the development feeling very festive and excited for their Christmas.”
