CHURCHES of all denominations came together in Barnard Castle on Good Friday for the annual Walk of Witness.
Members of St Mary’s CoE Church, St Mary’s RC Church, Barnard Castle Methodist Church and Christian Fellowship gathered on the Startforth side of the town’s Green Bridge where Revd Canon Alex Harding gave the first of five scripture readings and prayers.
Barnard Castle Band performed as the group sang hymns appropriate to the Easter season. Stops were made at St Mary’s Parish Church and at Scar Top when readings and prayers were led by Revd Dr Ana Moskvina-Baldwin, Fr Thomas Mason, Alan Coustick and Sue Staley.
Cross bearers on the day were Astley Fenwick and Jan Thompson.
