Former camera club’s equipment will benefit other groups

EQUIPMENT from a camera club that has folded is to be put to good use by groups and organisations in the upper dale.
Various institutions have also benefitted by receiving the last remaining cash held by Teesdale Camera Club which was forced to cease operation because of dwindling membership.
The club’s laptop and projector have been donated to Utass (Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services) and will not only be used by the charity for training and other purposes, but will also be loaned out to other groups on request.
Of the demise of the club, member Martin Rogers said: “Membership has been static for the past few years, then Covid put the kibosh.”
Among others the club’s cash was distributed to Fitzhugh Library, in Middleton-in-Teesdale, and Scarth Memorial Hall, in Stain-
drop.
