Footpath cleared after parish council plea

SPRUCE UP: Durham County Council's Find It and Fix It crew have been hard at work clearing pavements

PAVEMENTS between Barnard Castle and Stainton Grove have been given a tidy up thanks to Durham County Council’s Find It and Fix It team.
Grass had grown over the popular path adjacent to the busy A688 road making it more difficult for school children and other pedestrians to use.
After a request by Marwood Parish Council for assistance in clearing the walkway, the Find It and Fix It Team cut back the turf, using specialist equipment.
Cllr Pauline Glasper, chairwoman of Marwood Parish Council, met up with the team when they carried out the work earlier in the month.
The team also cut back the grass at the BMX track at The Hub, which had become overgrown due to the lockdowns, to enable the Hamsterley Trail Blazers, who meet on a Monday evening at 6.30pm, to train.
