Football star to sign copies of his book

LIFE STORY: Dave Thomas

FORMER England footballer Dave Thomas will be signing copies of his recently released autobiography in Barnard Castle on Friday, December 6.

Guiding Me Home and Away was released in October and recounts the story of his career and how he dealt with diminishing eyesight.

Mr Thomas, who was diagnosed with glaucoma 19 years ago, has raised more than £75,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind. He is hoping proceeds from his autobiography will help break the £100,000 barrier. He will sign copies at Clarendon’s in Market Place, Barnard Castle, on Thursday, December 6, from 4pm to 7pm. The book is also available to buy from the Teesdale Mercury’s shop in Market Place.
