Farmers deliver presents to 300 rural children

THREE CHEERS: This group braved the cold to cheer on the crowds from a trailer

MORE than 70 brightly decorated tractors took to the roads of the Gaunless Valley.
For the second successive year the Farmer Christmas event, organised by Woodland Community Group, has raised cash for local causes while also dishing out gifts to children. More than £3,000 was raised by the event and 323 children received gifts from Farmer Christmas.
Organiser Becky Land said: “The tractors came from across the board this year, from Woodland itself,
Copley, Bishop, Evenwood, Northallerton, Hamsterley, Weardale, Forest in Teesdale, Middleton, Gunnerside and more. It was an amazing turnout.” After touring through Woodland, Copley, Butterknowle and surrounding villages, everyone enjoyed a festive supper at Butterknowle Village Hall. Sponsors were MCW Digger Hire, Knights Pharmacy, Vinnie’s Electrical, Victoria Garth, Samantha Brown and Primetech UK.
