An Evenwood family’s fundraising effort in support of grieving friends has raised more than £2,000 so far this year for a charity that supports parents of stillborn babies.
Adam and Donna Morton, along with daughter Lily, decided to raise cash for the 4Louis campaign after close friends David and Charlotte Hogarth lost their daughter Elysia Robyn at birth.
The 4Louis organisation supported the couple by allowing them to share precious moments and memories with their daughter after her death.
Last year, Adam and his family raised £3,500 for the cause through a host of events including a coffee morning, evening quiz and a raffle. Lily also took part in the Junior Great North Run.
Of this year’s effort Adam said: “We have a lot planned with Lily who ran Junior Great North Run last weekend and we are having an afternoon tea next month in Evenwood Parish Hall with singer Cherie D’Avino attending.”
The afternoon tea takes place on Sunday, October 19, from 2.30pm to 5pm and includes a raffle and tombola. Tickets cost £5.
On Saturday, September 20, the family will be holding a live comedy and game show night at Eston Events Centre, in Middlesbrough.
It features stand-up comedians Jake Donaldson, Mike Milligan and Mickey Milligan.
Tickets cost £50 for a table of 10 or £7 per person.

Adam will also be taking part in a charity boxing match in November in support of 4Louis.
