HAPPY and Glorious, a flower festival to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne, was visited by hundreds of people during the jubilee holiday weekend.
The five-day display, at St Romald’s church, in Romaldkirk, featured innovative and creative interpretations of her reign including a corgi walk and picnic at Balmoral.
The exhibition, the brainchild of Su Graves and Jeanette Goodall, saw 20 residents put together displays of what the Queen meant to them.
Ms Graves said: “It’s been a real community project with people from the village coming up with ideas, about what the queen meant to them. It was all without a budget and most of the flowers have come from our gardens.
“We have had a continuous stream of people coming to look and even ladies from the WI came.”
