Extreme reading’ at Gainford Primary School

NEW CHAPTER: Leaping Lizards house had The Tiger Who Came To Tea as their theme for World Book Day

CHILDREN from Gainford Primary School went to extreme lengths during World Book Day.

Many of the pupils hung from monkey bars or clung to a climbing wall in a session of “extreme reading” to prove their passion for books. Other activities included writing reviews, redesigning book covers and preparing a tea party.

Headteacher Chris Riley said: “We are doing lots of things. Instead of being in our usual classes, we are working in house teams across the school. Everyone has dressed as their favourite character and we’ve been making book marks and sharing our favourite books.”
