Evenwood Primary school pupils organise litter pick

WAR ON LITTER: Evenwood school

EVENWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL

EVENWOOD Primary school organised an event inviting all community members along to join in the first litter pick in the village.

In total, 21 volunteers, including children and families from the school as young as five, and Kate Barrigan, from the YMCA, came together for two hours, walked around the village and collected 19 bags of rubbish.

We hope to organise another litter pick in March and hope to see more members of the community join us. We welcome people to come and help keep the village clean and let us know of areas that have problems with litter.

The main road from Evenwood Gate into the village was especially littered with fast food packaging.
