Dementia group enjoys Christmas lunch

GAMES FOR THE BRAIN

MEMBERS of the Games for the Brain dementia group in Barnard Castle were treated to an early Christmas lunch, thanks to the crafting skills of one of their members.

Throughout the year Joan Whiteley carefully creates a range of cards and sells them to raise funds for the group.

This year the cards, which are available for sale at the Teesdale Restaurant, in Barnard Castle, raised £300 and members were treated to a sumptuous lunch at the restaurant on Monday, December 2.

Thanks were given to Craig Stephenson and his staff for helping arrange the event and to volunteer Sally Davies for help with card labels.

Mrs Whiteley was also presented with a poinsettia plants as a thank you from all members.
