Damage to town beauty spot

Near the 'bandstand'

IRRESPONSIBLE drivers have moved on to another Barnard Castle beauty spot, churning up the soft ground with their wheels.

These photos on the road to and at the “bandstand” area, near the River Tees, were taken by a resident. He said: “It seems the wheelie people have turned their attention elsewhere.” The damage done last week came after repeated incidents involving drivers at the Demesnes in Barnard Castle. This has led to a decision to fence off part of the Demesnes to cars.
