AN upper dale nursery school has won praise from Ofsted inspectors.

Dawn Till Dusk Childcare was rated “good” by the education watchdog after an inspection in March.

Inspectors said children enjoy their time at the nursery where they were well nurtured and shown care.

The nursery, which is based at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School, has 22 children on its roll with has eight staff members.

The inspectors’ report described manager Lucy Grieves as passionate and ambitious in providing the best start for children and staff spoke highly of the support and coaching she offers.

The Ofsted report added: “Partnership working with parents is good. Parents are overwhelmingly positive about staff and the support they receive.

“Parents feel that the manager and staff do a fantastic job.”

One of the parents wrote: “We really do feel quite passionate about this small, yet shiny, jewel in the crown of Middleton-in-Teesdale.”

Another added: “Dawn Till Dusk is like a second home, which cares for each and every child in such a nurturing and enriching learning environment.”

Ms Grieves said working families will be entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare for children aged nine months and older from September and those looking at options were welcome to visit.
