Cook up a lockdown curry at online family workshop

CURRY IN A HURRY: Naila Laundy has teamed with the TCR Hub to present to online cookery workshops

A VIRTUAL cookery session for all the family is on the menu at the TCR Hub, in Barnard Castle.
Baker and cook Naila Laundy will lead a workshop featuring recipes from the subcontinent via the Zoom platform on Thursday, January 28, when she will cook up daal and stuffed flatbread.

Advice on the use of Asian spices and how to create your own mix of flavours will also form part of the workshop.
It follows on from a successful Christmas cake baking and decorating session hosted by the TCR Hub last November.
Sarah Gent, one of TCR Hub’s family activity co-ordinators, will be organising the session, which aims to encourage people to be creative is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
“I will also be cooking at home with the kids so we can enjoy this experience together, hopefully resulting in a delicious dinner or to keep for the next day.
“Naila did a baking session in November to help families make their own Christmas cake and the feedback was so positive. Half of those attending had never baked their own Christmas cake so that felt really special. A huge thanks to Naila for doing these sessions with us.”
All the ingredients can be supplied by The Hub if needed on the day of the workshop.
Alternatively, Ms Gent will email the recipe to those who sign up to ensure they have a chance to source all the ingredients.
The workshop will take place from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.
Tickets are £3 per family, with ingredient packs £4. Subsidised places are available.
For further details contact Ms Gent at [email protected].
