PEOPLE in the upper dale will be able to access citizens advice on a weekly basis later this year following the recruitment of two new volunteers.
Currently advice is offered once a month at Utass (Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services) offices in Middleton-in-Teesdale.
Volunteers Paul Hodgkinson and Janet Dobson have undergone online training as well as weekly in-person session over the past six months to allow them to offer help for “everything and anything” .
Robert Young, of Citizens Advice County Durham, said services include benefits, debt, employment or neighbour disputes. He added that people can now access advice on the second and last Friday of the month between 10am and 1pm.
The next sessions will be on July 28, August 11 and 25 and September 8 and 25.
From October sessions will become weekly on a Friday between 10am and noon.
