Children say a special thank you

Rebecca and Charlie Rainbow with Betsy Meeson

CHILDREN aged between three and six put on a fantastic spread for their mums and grandmothers at Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary school.

The early years group helped bake cakes and scones for the high tea to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Teacher Lauren Dominick said the youngsters had also made flowers out of handprints to give to their mums on the special day.

Children at Staindrop Primary School enjoy a morning of activities with their mums and grandmothers during an annual event.

Each year the school’s nursery and reception invite their mums and grandmothers to the school ahead of Mother’s Day for a “stay and play” session.

Teacher Morag Bowman said among the activities were making bracelets, decorating biscuits and arts and crafts.

The little ones also presented their mums with gifts they had made including flower pots with their
