Children cook up book of family favourites

ON SALE: Elizabeth Dixon

ENTREPRENEURIAL children have cooked up their own recipe book to help raise cash for their school.

Cheesecake, ginger biscuits and pheasant goujons are among the tasty treats people can look forward to making when they buy the new recipe book produced by children at Ravensworth Primary School.

Class one teacher Amy Dobinson said the recipes were devised as part of a school project. She added: “We set it as homework to write down family recipes.”

The new book will go on sale during the school’s Christmas Fair, which takes place on Friday, December 14 between 2pm and 3pm.

Children from class one will be making vanilla and ginger cookies for the fair while class two will be making fudge.

Local businesses will also be selling treats.
