Cheeky sign brings cheer

SIGN OF THE TIMES: Claire Cook took this image of the sign when she saw it

A MYSTERY person brought smiles to thousands of people by altering a road sign.

The culprit changed the words on a sign pointing motorists to Wham last week. They covered up the word “Cockfield” and altered it to “Last Christmas” , then added an exclamation mark to Wham to celebrate the famous festive hit by the 1980s pop duo. Claire Cook, from South Side, was out running when she spotted it and shared it on Facebook. It went viral. She said: “It has really cheered us all up and I really hope the person who did it sees how much laughter they’ve brought to people. The funny thing is that I was listening Edge of Heaven by Wham! at the time.”
