A CARE worker has been recognised for her “passionate and thoughtful attitude” during her past 18 years at a residential home.
HC-One’s Beaconsfield Court Care Home is celebrating the work of Karen Hutchinson, who received a Kindness in Care Award.
The programme was launched by HC-One and recognises the efforts of staff.
A spokesman said: “Karen shows kindness to everyone she comes into contact with, whether it’s the residents, her colleagues or relatives, and is loved by everyone “She sits and chats to all of the residents in her spare time and joins in with the activities.”
Home manager Laura Langridge and head of department Tracey McMahon nominated her for the award.
Resident Bryan Gledhill, who calls Karen “Midge” , said: “I couldn’t think of anyone who’s more deserving of this award than Midge.”
Ms Hutchinson said: “This award has made me feel so appreciated, I haven’t come down from cloud nine since receiving it.”
HC-One is celebrating achieving a 9.5/10 average rating on the sector’s leading care home comparison website, carehome.co.uk, with Beaconsfield Court itself achieving a 9.7 rating.
