Brownies do their bit to pick up litter

Barnard Castle Brownies ready for their litter pick

BARNARD Castle Brownies (pictured) enjoyed a productive evening picking up litter around the streets of their town.

Startforth Brownies also took part in the activity, which is for a programme that lets the children get out around town and see how the environment could be improved. Debby Brown, from Barnard Castle Brownies, said: “Some of the girls were so inspired they went away wanting to do something similar nearer their homes and in the villages near Barnard Castle.”
