Bishop of Durham visits Butterknowle Primary School

Ella Linsley explains her Christmas card design to Bishop of Durham Rt Revd Paul Butler

BISHOP of Durham, Rt Revd Paul Butler, visited Butterknowle Primary School for a special Christmas lunch and to meet the pupil who designed his Christmas card this year.

Little Ella Linsley’s depiction of the nativity scene, complete with Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus and angels, was selected by the bishop as his personal greeting card this Christmas.

Rt Revd Butler said all the right elements appear in the Ella’s design.

He added: “It tells so much of the Christmas story.”

Ella said she got the idea for her design from her favourite Christmas book .

Parents, grandparents and carers also enjoyed the Christmas lunch at the school on Wednesday, January 19, which has become an annual tradition.
